Multidimensionellt is an adjective used to describe something that involves more than one dimension. In mathematics and related fields, it refers to spaces, objects, or models defined in two or more dimensions. In everyday language it is often used to refer to phenomena with multiple aspects or features.

In geometry and linear algebra, points, vectors, and shapes can exist in dimensions beyond the familiar two and three; examples include R^n spaces, tensors of higher order, and multidimensional arrays.

In data analysis, multidimensional data describes datasets with several attributes per observation. Techniques such as dimensionality reduction, clustering, and multidimensional scaling are used to analyze and visualize high-dimensional data. A common challenge is the curse of dimensionality, where both storage and computation grow with the number of dimensions, and distance measures become less informative; thus, methods for reducing dimensions are important.

In physics and other sciences, extra dimensions are proposed in theories such as string theory or in the description of spacetime, which is four-dimensional (three spatial dimensions plus time) in relativity. The term multidimensional is also used across disciplines to indicate systems with many interacting parts or coordinates.

In computer science and software, multidimensional arrays or tensors organize data along several axes, enabling efficient storage and operations on high-dimensional data, such as in machine learning and scientific computing.
