There is no single standardized product named Moldit; rather, several manufacturers offer two-part resins or silicones under this name that polymerize into flexible or rigid molds. These materials are used to create negative molds from master objects and to produce subsequent casts in wax, plaster, resin, or metal.

Working time can range from a few minutes to an hour, with full cure taking several hours to a day depending on formulation and temperature.
