Mobbingként is a Hungarian expression used to describe actions or behaviors that are carried out in the manner of mobbing. In everyday language it labels conduct that should be understood as workplace harassment rather than legitimate feedback or discipline. The base noun mobbing refers to repeated, systematic harassment of a person in a professional setting, typically by colleagues or superiors, with the aim of humiliating, isolating, or forcing the person to leave.

Mobbingként often occurs through patterns such as social exclusion, spreading or amplifying rumors, deliberate undermining of a person’s work, verbal abuse, public humiliation, removal of responsibilities, or the imposition of unrealistic work demands. The behaviors are usually persistent over weeks or months and are directed at a specific target, with the goal of eroding the victim’s confidence and standing within the workplace.

The effects on victims can be serious and include psychological distress, anxiety, depression, sleep disturbances, and physical symptoms. Job-related consequences may include reduced performance, lower job satisfaction, elevated absenteeism, and, in many cases, a decision to resign. Organizations may experience higher turnover, lower morale, and increased risk of conflicts and legal claims.

Prevention and response involve clear anti-mobbing policies, training for staff and managers, and safe channels for reporting concerns. Early documentation, support for the victim, and timely investigation are important. Remedies may include organizational changes, mediation, disciplinary action against perpetrators, and, where applicable, legal or contractual avenues to address harm and restore a safe working environment.
