Mintasoron is a fictional mineral used in speculative geology and worldbuilding. In most depictions, it is described as a manganese-rich silicate with variable iron and titanium content, forming in high-temperature metamorphic or hydrothermal environments.

Mintasoron is described as having Mohs hardness roughly 5.5–6.5, a density of about 3.9 g/cm3, and a vitreous to sub-adamantine luster. Colors range from deep emerald-green to steel-gray, with strong pleochroism reported in some crystals.

Crystal structure discussions place mintasoron in the monoclinic system, with prismatic to tabular crystals and a layered or chainlike silicate arrangement. This arrangement is often linked to localized chemical zoning and notable cleavage along certain planes.

Occurrence and discovery in fictional accounts place mintasoron in ultramafic and granulite facies rocks, commonly in veined sulfide-rich deposits. It was first described by geologist Dr. Arin Voss in 2240 in the Neralis Archipelago, a setting used to illustrate its geologic context and formation conditions.

Uses and significance are mainly as a collector’s gemstone in stories, with occasional references to jewelry and decorative inlays. In some material-science narratives, mintasoron is explored for potential refractories and ceramic additives due to hypothesized high-temperature stability and chemical resilience.
