Midheight is a term used to denote the height or level that is approximately halfway between the bottom and top of a given object, space, or system. It is a relative concept; the exact numeric value depends on the chosen reference points and may vary across contexts. Midheight serves as a practical reference line for alignment, division, or placement.

In architecture, interior design, and packaging, midheight commonly guides the positioning of elements such as shelves, windows, furniture, or label areas, typically defined as halfway between floor level and ceiling or between the base line and the top edge of an enclosure. In graphical and user interface design, midheight can refer to vertical centering: content blocks are positioned so their midpoint aligns with the middle of the viewport or container.

In typography and related fields, midheight is not a standard technical term; designers more often speak of the baseline, mean line, x-height, cap height, or ascender/descender heights. Nevertheless, the idea of a central height remains relevant when balancing elements within a composition.
