Manubriets is a fictional genus of small, arboreal mammals that appears in various fantasy and speculative fiction settings. The name is derived from the Latin manubrium, loosely invoking the idea of a sturdy, “handle-like” forelimb structure that figures prominently in the creatures’ description.

Physically, manubriets are described as roughly weasel- to badger-sized, with dense fur, short bodies, and notably elongated forelimbs that end in highly adaptable, detachable digits. In many in-universe depictions, these forelimbs enable precise grasping, climbing, and even simple tool use, though the exact capabilities vary by author and work. They typically have a short tail and keen senses, particularly for detecting movement in dim forest environments.
