In the context of measurement instruments, lämpötilasidonta often utilizes bimetallic strips or specialized alloys whose expansion or contraction properties are designed to cancel out the dimensional changes of other components. For instance, a bimetallic strip might be incorporated into a pressure gauge to ensure that the deflection of a diaphragm remains consistent across a range of temperatures. Similarly, in electronics, temperature-sensitive components like resistors or capacitors can be selected or arranged in a way that their combined behavior remains relatively constant despite ambient temperature changes.

The principle can also be applied to physical phenomena.
