The physical appearance of a ludlockite is highly variable, as they are amorphous and can change their shape at will. They are typically described as being the size of a large dog, with a translucent, gelatinous body. They have no discernible features, such as eyes or mouths, but they are capable of perceiving their surroundings through unknown means. Ludlockites move by oozing and flowing, and they can squeeze through small openings.

In combat, ludlockites attack by engulfing their prey. Once a creature is engulfed, the ludlockite begins to drain its life force, causing damage and reducing its strength.
