librooro
Librooro is an open‑source digital library system developed by the Fundación Biblioteca Digital, first released in 2021. Designed to aid small to medium educational institutions, the platform provides a web‑based interface for cataloguing books, managing user accounts, and facilitating inter‑library loans. Librooro was created in response to growing demand for affordable, low‑maintenance library management software in Spanish‑speaking countries. It is built on the Django web framework and uses PostgreSQL for data storage, which allows for reliable handling of thousands of book records and simultaneous user sessions.
Core features of Librooro include a full text search engine, integrated barcode scanning, and automated overdue
Since its initial release, Librooro has seen adoption by over 150 institutions in Spain, Mexico, and Chile.
