lagskipting
Lagskipting is the deliberate distribution of work across teams and individuals within an organization or project, aiming to align tasks with available skills, capacity and dependencies. In Norwegian management usage, it refers to dividing work into defined portions assigned to different lags (teams) that are responsible for specific aspects of a process and for coordinating handoffs to others.
The concept relates to the broader idea of division of labor, but emphasizes how work is organized
Across domains, lagskipting appears in manufacturing lines where tasks are allocated to stations, in software development
Key design considerations include defining task boundaries, ensuring accountability, establishing communication rituals, and maintaining sufficient cross-lag
