Középiskolás is a Hungarian term referring to a student attending secondary school. In the Hungarian education system, this typically encompasses students aged 14 to 18, following the completion of primary education. The secondary school period is divided into two main stages: vocational training (szakképzés) and general secondary education (gimnázium).

Gimnázium students generally pursue a curriculum designed to prepare them for higher education. This includes a broad range of subjects such as mathematics, sciences, languages, history, and literature. Vocational schools, on the other hand, provide specialized training in a particular trade or profession, equipping students with practical skills for immediate employment or further specialized studies.

The completion of secondary education usually culminates in a final examination, known as the "érettségi," which is a prerequisite for university or college admission for students from gimnáziums, and can also be a pathway for vocational students to pursue higher education in their field.
