The form készültséget appears in contexts where the concept is the object of a verb, for example, készültséget tanúsít (to demonstrate readiness) or készültséget tart fenn (to maintain readiness).

In practice, készültséget is used across domains. In military contexts it describes the level at which forces or units are prepared for deployment. In civil protection and emergency management it refers to how authorities, organizations, and communities maintain readiness to respond to disasters, accidents, or public health events.
