Kuusia refers to the female cone of a conifer tree, typically a pine or spruce. These structures are reproductive and play a vital role in the tree's life cycle. Unlike the pollen-producing male cones, which are usually small and ephemeral, female cones are larger and develop into woody structures that contain seeds.

The appearance of kuusia varies significantly depending on the species of conifer. Pine cones, for instance, are often hard and woody, with scales that protect the developing seeds.
