Watches certified by COSC must demonstrate exceptional accuracy within specified daily deviations when tested in different positions and temperatures over several days. While the term chronometer can technically apply to any highly accurate timepiece, in the context of watches, it specifically refers to those that have undergone and passed these official certification processes, indicating a high level of mechanical precision and reliability.
