A typical konjunktuuri cycle comprises phases such as expansion, peak, recession, and recovery. During expansion, real GDP grows, unemployment falls, and production increases. The peak marks a high point of activity before a slowdown leads into a recession, characterized by contracting output and rising unemployment. In the recovery phase, activity resumes and the economy gradually returns to growth. The cycle can vary in duration and intensity across economies and time periods.
