Kohezntenzní is a neologism used in Czech-language materials science discourse to describe the relationship between a material's cohesive forces and its tensile response. The term combines kohezní (cohesive) with tenzní (tensile). There is no universally adopted definition, and its precise meaning varies by author and context.

In general, kohezntenzní may refer to a qualitative assessment of how strong the internal binding of a material is relative to its resistance to being pulled apart. Some researchers propose a kohezntenzní index that reflects the balance between cohesive energy density and tensile strength or elongation. Others use it to describe failure behavior: materials with high kohezntenzní values tend to fail cohesively (within the material) rather than at interfaces.

Measurement approaches for kohezntenzní are diverse. They can derive from tensile tests and fracture analysis to gauge how a material behaves under load, or from calorimetric and spectroscopic methods that estimate cohesive energy. Computational methods, including molecular dynamics, may be used to estimate internal bonding and energy terms. The resulting descriptor is sometimes presented as a ratio or as a multi-parameter indicator that fuses energy-based and mechanical properties.

Applications and significance of kohezntenzní lie in evaluating polymers, adhesives, composites, and biomaterials where both internal cohesion and tensile performance are critical. The concept can aid material selection and failure analysis by highlighting cases where high internal cohesion does not automatically translate to superior tensile resistance.
