Kliendisüsteem, often translated as client system or client architecture, refers to a computing model where one or more computers, known as clients, access resources or services provided by a central computer, known as a server. This is a fundamental concept in computer networking and software design, enabling distributed computing and resource sharing.

In a typical kliendisüsteem, the client is responsible for the user interface and the presentation of data, while the server handles the processing, data storage, and management of shared resources. This division of labor allows for efficient use of computing power and centralized control over data and applications. Common examples include web browsers (clients) accessing websites (servers), email clients interacting with email servers, and file-sharing applications where clients request files from a server.

The advantages of a kliendisüsteem include centralized data management, easier software updates and maintenance on the server side, and the ability for multiple clients to access the same resources simultaneously. However, it also introduces dependencies on the server; if the server is unavailable, clients cannot access the necessary services. Network performance and security are also critical considerations in designing and managing kliendisüsteem. The architecture can vary, from simple two-tier systems to complex multi-tier systems involving multiple layers of servers.
