kernservices
Kernservices, or kernel services, is a broad term used to describe the core functionalities provided by an operating system kernel to support execution, resource management, and hardware interaction. These services are designed to be invoked by user-space programs and other kernel components, and they form the foundation upon which higher-level software is built. In general, kernel services cover areas such as process management, memory management, I/O and device drivers, file systems, networking, inter-process communication, timing and scheduling, and security enforcement. Depending on the architecture, some of these services run entirely in kernel space while others may be implemented as separate modules or servers.
Access to kernel services is mediated through defined interfaces, typically system calls or kernel APIs. In
Design choices around kernservices influence performance, reliability, and security. A larger, feature-rich kernel can offer rapid
