Jéglapok is a Hungarian term that translates to "ice sheets" or "ice plates." It refers to the natural phenomenon of ice formations found on bodies of water, typically lakes or slow-moving rivers, during freezing temperatures. These formations are often characterized by large, relatively flat expanses of ice that can break apart and move, especially under the influence of wind and currents.

The formation of jéglapok begins when the surface of the water cools to its freezing point. As temperatures continue to drop, ice crystals form and coalesce, creating a solid layer.
