Jadelike is an adjective used to describe objects, stones, or finishes that resemble jade in appearance or texture. It is commonly applied to carvings, jewelry, and decorative items that show the characteristic smoothness, waxy luster, and muted translucency associated with jade, especially the green hues that jade is famed for.

In geology and gemology, jade refers to two different minerals: nephrite and jadeite. A material described as jadelike may be actual jade, or another mineral or synthetic material that imitates jade's look, such as serpentine, chalcedony, or glass. True jade has notable toughness; jadeite is typically harder and rarer than nephrite, and both can vary widely in color, from green to white and even lavender, yellow, or brown.

Jadelike appearances are widely used in art and jewelry, with jade-inspired tones appearing in carvings, beads, cabochons, and inlays. Marketing terms like imperial jade are used to describe highly valued jadeite with strong, even green color and high translucency, though not every green material marketed as such is genuine jade.

Because jadelike stones cover a range of true jade and imitations, decisive identification requires gemological testing, including color, translucency, texture, luster, and tests such as refractive index and specific gravity. In cultural contexts, jade and jadelike objects have been highly valued across various traditions, particularly in East Asia, where jade symbolizes durability and moral integrity.
