The phrase combines isomorfia (isomorphism) with suoja (protection or defense). In practice, isomorfiasuoja refers to methods that ensure that processing, comparison, or analysis yields the same result for any structures that are isomorphic.

Because there is no universally adopted formal definition, the concept is applied in a few contexts. In algorithm design, an isomorfiasuoja property would require outputs to be invariant under isomorphisms, so relabeled or renamed representations do not affect outcomes.
