Integráltak, also known as integrated circuits or chips, are fundamental components of modern electronics. They are tiny semiconductor devices that combine multiple electronic components—such as transistors, resistors, and capacitors—onto a single piece of semiconductor material, usually silicon. This miniaturization allows for the creation of complex and efficient electronic systems in a compact form.

The development of integrated circuits began in the late 1950s, with the first practical example being the Texas Instruments and Fairchild Semiconductor "microchip" in 1959. These devices revolutionized electronics by replacing bulky discrete components with smaller, more reliable, and cost-effective alternatives.
