An installatör, or installer, is a tradesperson who installs equipment or systems in buildings, vehicles, or outdoor facilities. The term is widely used in Swedish and other European contexts to denote professionals who plan, assemble, connect, test, and commission installations. Installatörer may specialize by sector, such as electrical installations, plumbing and heating, HVAC, telecommunications and data networks, solar power systems, or industrial automation.

Typical duties include reading and interpreting design drawings and specifications, selecting appropriate components, mounting and wiring equipment, routing cables or piping, connecting systems to power, water, gas, or networks, configuring software or controllers, commissioning the system, conducting performance tests, troubleshooting faults, and providing user training and documentation for handover.

Work environments vary from new-build construction sites to existing buildings undergoing upgrades, as well as industrial plants and outdoor sites. The work often requires coordination with other trades and adherence to safety procedures and project timelines.

Qualifications vary by country and sector. Most installatörer possess vocational education and a period of supervised work, such as an apprenticeship or traineeship. In regulated fields (for example electrical or gas systems) professional licenses or certifications and continuing safety training are required. Proficiency with tools, measurement equipment, and basic programming or configuration software is common, as are knowledge of standards and codes.
