Högplatåer can form through several geological processes, including volcanic activity, erosion, and tectonic uplift. Volcanic plateaus are created by successive lava flows that spread out over vast areas, building up thick layers of igneous rock. Erosional plateaus are formed when surrounding land is worn away by wind and water, leaving a higher, more resistant area exposed.
