Hröfn is a genus of deep-sea anglerfish belonging to the family Himantolophidae. These fish are characterized by their globular bodies, large mouths filled with sharp teeth, and a bioluminescent lure extending from the head of the female. The males are significantly smaller and parasitic, attaching themselves to the females.
