Safety and efficiency considerations are important. Combustion-based systems require proper ventilation and carbon monoxide safeguards; electric heaters raise fire risk if misused. Heat pumps offer energy efficiency advantages, and good insulation, controls, and air filtration help manage moisture, air quality, and energy use.
