The core component of a hajtáslánc is the chain itself, which typically consists of a series of interconnected metal links. These links engage with sprockets, which are toothed wheels mounted on the driving and driven shafts. As the driving sprocket rotates, its teeth mesh with the chain, pulling it along. The movement of the chain then drives the driven sprocket, causing it to rotate. The ratio of the number of teeth on the driving sprocket to the number of teeth on the driven sprocket determines the speed and torque transfer characteristics of the system. A smaller driving sprocket and a larger driven sprocket will result in a lower output speed but higher torque, while the opposite configuration will yield higher speed and lower torque.
