Furnérból is a Swedish term referring to a type of furniture or interior element constructed from veneer. Veneer itself is a thin slice of wood, typically of a desirable species and high quality, which is then glued onto a less expensive substrate, such as particleboard or plywood. This technique allows for the aesthetic qualities of expensive hardwoods to be achieved at a lower cost and with greater stability. Furniture made from furnérból, therefore, often features surfaces that mimic the appearance of solid wood, with visible grain patterns and natural variations.
