Friläge is a term used in Swedish sports language to describe a situation in which an attacking player has an unobstructed path to the goal, creating a high-probability scoring opportunity. The expression literally means “free position” and is widely used in football (soccer) and ice hockey, though it is not an official rule term.

In football, a friläge typically refers to a one-on-one or near one-on-one situation between an attacker and the goalkeeper.
