The choice of flow measurement technology depends on factors such as the physical properties of the fluid (viscosity, temperature, conductivity), the operating pressure and temperature, the required accuracy, and installation constraints. Calibration and regular maintenance are essential to maintain measurement integrity, as fouling, temperature drift, and mechanical wear can affect readings over time. Flowmeters are typically integrated into supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, enabling real-time monitoring and remote control.
