Flokkud is a fictional species of large herbivorous ungulates from the highland regions of the fantasy world of Aethria. The name derives from the animals' tight social structure and recurring migratory formations, which scholars describe as flokks. They are medium-sized, standing about 0.9 to 1.15 meters at the shoulder and weighing 60 to 140 kilograms. The coat is long and shaggy in winter, with color variation from pale gray to ochre. Males typically grow short, curved horns; females may have smaller horns or none.

Flokkud inhabit montane meadows and subalpine forests at elevations roughly 1200–2500 meters, though their ranges shift with the seasons. They live in stable, matriarchal herds of 15–60 individuals and coordinate movement through a series of vocal and body signals. Predators are scarce but include mountain-adapted carnivores; social vigilance and cooperative defense are common.

Diet consists mainly of grasses, sedges, and shrub twigs. They play a role in shaping plant communities through grazing patterns and serve as seed dispersers via fur contact with vegetation.

Reproduction occurs during late winter to early spring; gestation lasts about seven to eight months, typically yielding a single calf. Calves are weaned around six to twelve months and remain with the herd for several years.

In-world lore, the flokkud are regarded as hardy representatives of the highlands, appearing in myths and seasonal rites. Their hides and horns appear in traditional crafts and ceremonial items.
