Enzymes, such as those found in papaya or pineapple, also act as chemical exfoliants.

The frequency of exfoliation depends on skin type and the strength of the product used. Over-exfoliation can lead to irritation, redness, and increased sensitivity. It is generally recommended to start with a less frequent schedule and gradually increase as tolerated. After exfoliating, it is important to moisturize the skin to replenish hydration. Exfoliation is a common step in skincare routines for both the face and body.
