By federating identity across these services, eventsso aims to reduce login friction while maintaining centralized access control.

They often incorporate attribute data such as ticket type, registration status, session enrollments, and role (attendee, staff, speaker) to tailor access permissions across services.

In a typical workflow, a user attempts to access a service provider integrated with eventsso. The service redirects the user to the IdP for authentication. After successful login, the IdP issues a token or assertion that the service validates to grant access. Tokens may carry event-specific attributes and can be refreshed to maintain a seamless session across multiple services during the event.

Benefits of eventsso include reduced credential fatigue, simpler onboarding for new services, and unified audit trails for compliance and security. It also supports portable attendee experiences across partner apps and platforms, under data governance rules set by the IdP and the event organizer.

Challenges include ensuring interoperability among heterogeneous vendors, protecting tokens and personal data, and obtaining attendee consent for attribute sharing.
