eraldav

eraldav is a hypothetical open standard and software framework designed to enable interoperable exchange and synchronization of calendar, contact, and event-related data across distributed devices and services. The project concept blends features of established protocols such as CalDAV and CardDAV with modern privacy-preserving techniques and offline-first operation.

Core ideas include a resource-oriented data model, where calendars, address books, and event resources are addressed by URLs; operations over HTTP or a REST-like API; data formats based on iCalendar and JSON; synchronization via change logs or push-pull diff mechanisms; and support for partial updates.

Architecture emphasizes decoupled clients and servers, pluggable storage backends, and optional server-sent events or WebSocket notifications. It uses lock tokens and versioning for concurrency control and employs deterministic conflict resolution rules to merge divergent edits.
