Elasticated is an adjective used in textiles to describe fabric, trims, or garments that incorporate elastic to provide stretch and a secure fit. The term is common in British English; in American English the equivalent is often "elasticized." Elasticated features enable more flexible sizing and repeated wear without fasteners being relied upon.

Construction: Elasticated sections may be created by inserting elastic strips into a channel (a casing) or by shirring, where fabric is gathered with elastic threads. Elastic comes in various widths and tensions, and can be sewn invisibly or exposed as a trim. In design, elasticated areas are used to maintain shape and accommodate movement while retaining a neat silhouette.

Applications include elasticated waistbands in trousers and skirts; cuffs and hems; socks or stockings with elastic tops; maternity wear; sports and athletic gear where stretch is important. Care: Elasticated garments may be washed with mild detergent; avoid high heat; air dry to prolong elasticity. Prolonged exposure to chlorine, harsh cleaners, or intense sunlight can degrade elastic material, reducing its elasticity and durability over time.
