ECAM, short for Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitoring, is an integrated cockpit system used on Airbus commercial aircraft to monitor aircraft systems, manage faults, and present guidance to the flight crew. It provides real-time data about engines, fuel, hydraulics, electrical, environmental controls, flight controls, and ancillary systems on two dedicated cockpit displays, helping the crew understand current status and required actions.

When a fault or abnormal condition occurs, ECAM automatically generates a fault list and presents corresponding procedures. The system divides information into two domains: system pages, which show the status of subsystems, and procedure pages, which offer step-by-step actions to isolate or correct faults. It prioritizes warnings and summarizes critical alerts for quick crew response.

Pilots interact with ECAM through a control panel that allows navigation between display pages and selection of relevant procedures. ECAM includes built-in checklists and follows a standardized sequence so that action items are presented in a logical order, often referencing the aircraft's QRH (quick reference handbook) content to support decision-making.

ECAM is characteristic of Airbus cockpits and is a standard feature on many Airbus types, including the A320 family and later airframes such as the A330, A340, A350, and A380. In contrast, Boeing aircraft use a related but distinct fault-management system known as EICAS.
