Dubsteps is an informal, pluralized reference to multiple tracks within the dubstep genre; the widely accepted term for the music is dubstep. Originating in South London in the late 1990s and early 2000s, dubstep grew out of a mix of UK garage, grime, drum and bass, and reggae-dub influences.
