draffsystemet
Draffsystemet refers to a traditional method of waste disposal and sanitation historically employed in various parts of Sweden. The term itself is derived from "draff," meaning refuse or garbage, and "systemet," meaning the system. This system was characterized by the collection of household waste, including organic matter, ashes, and other refuse, which was then transported outside of settlements for disposal. Often, this disposal took place in designated areas known as "draffplatser" or refuse dumps, typically located on the outskirts of villages or towns.
The draffsystemet was a rudimentary form of waste management that predated modern sewage and garbage collection
