Demarcaasyon, or demarcation, is the process of establishing and marking boundaries to define the limits of land parcels, jurisdictions, or political units. It encompasses identifying the exact location of a boundary and recording it in legal documents, maps, and on the ground through markers or monuments. Demarcation helps determine ownership, responsibilities, and rights, and it provides a basis for administration, taxation, planning, and dispute resolution.

The process typically involves several stages. Surveying and documentation are core elements, using cadastral maps, geodetic methods, GPS measurements, and field notes to determine the boundary line according to legal descriptions or agreements. Once a boundary is located, markers or monuments may be placed at defined points, and updated records are created in cadastral or land administration systems.
