DellOrtles is a small alpine locality situated in the western portion of the Municipality of Tiers in the South Tyrol region of northern Italy. The settlement lies at an altitude of approximately 1,200 metres above sea level, within the eastern side of the Ortles–Passer mountain range. Its name, derived from the nearby Ortles mountain, reflects the historical dependence of the community on the surrounding high‑elevation pastures.

The population of DellOrtles has remained modest, with fewer than 100 residents reported in the latest census. The residents are predominantly involved in seasonal pastoralism, cultivating alpine meadows for sheep and goats during the summer months. In recent decades, the locality has also attracted small-scale agritourism enterprises that combine traditional farming with bed and breakfast accommodations for hikers and cyclists.

DellOrtles is accessible via a single narrow mountain road that connects to the main D813 route leading to the town of Brentonico. Public transportation is limited; a seasonal shuttle bus operates during the high‑summer period to facilitate visitor access to the area’s trail network. The surrounding region is a popular destination for trail runners, mountaineers, and those seeking quiet back‑country experiences. Hikers from the nearby villages often use DellOrtles as a starting point for shorter excursions up the Ortles massif, or as a corridor to the broader network of passes that crisscross the Dolomites.

The locality preserves a number of traditional Tyrolean farmhouses, modest stone chapels, and a 19th‑century watchtower that historically served as a lookout against invaders and brigands. Although small and largely overlooked on the map, DellOrtles remains emblematic of the enduring rural heritage of the South Tyrol alpine landscape.
