Constructiedikte is a term used in Dutch architecture, civil engineering and construction management to refer to the thickness of a construction element. It denotes the distance between the outer faces of the element, or the total thickness of a layered assembly when multiple materials are combined, such as a wall composed of cladding, insulation and a structural core.

The constructiedikte is a key parameter for several aspects of building performance. It influences structural capacity and stiffness, as well as thermal insulation, sound insulation, moisture control and fire resistance. The required thickness is determined by functional requirements, loads, material properties, and applicable building codes and standards. In practice, the overall thickness of a multi-layer assembly is the sum of the thicknesses of its constituent layers.

Calculation and documentation are standard parts of design and engineering workflows. The thickness is specified in architectural drawings and construction specifications and is represented in BIM models as a dimension or property of the element. Tolerances and manufacturing constraints are defined to ensure proper fit and performance in the finished structure.

Different construction systems have characteristic thickness ranges. Exterior walls, interior partitions, floors and slabs each have typical thicknesses that reflect their material choices (concrete, brick, timber, lightweight panels) and performance targets. In prefabricated and modular construction, constructiedikte also affects production feasibility, transport, and assembly.
