Büroodes are a term used in speculative biology and urban folklore to describe a hypothetical class of microscopic, office-associated organisms. The name blends Büro, the German word for office, with the suffix -oides, meaning resembling, to suggest life forms adapted to man-made interiors.

In most descriptions, büroodes are envisioned as gelatinous or colonial colonies that can form thin sheets on smooth surfaces such as glass, plastic, or metal. They are typically portrayed as colorless or pale, with a translucent sheen, and may produce filamentous networks that help them adhere to substrates. Some depictions emphasize a soft, jelly-like consistency that allows them to squeeze into gaps between equipment and furniture.

Ecology and metabolism are intentionally speculative. Bürodes are imagined as chemoorganotrophic organisms that feed on organic residues, dust, and micro-pollutants common in offices. They are said to prefer humid, temperature-stable environments and reproduce by budding or fragmentation, enabling rapid colonization of interior spaces.
