A bodyboarder is an individual who participates in the sport of bodyboarding. This watersport involves riding on the crest, face, and sometimes the lip of a breaking wave. Unlike surfing, bodyboarders typically ride a smaller, rectangular board made of foam, often with a leash attached to their wrist or ankle to prevent the board from being lost. They usually lie on their stomach, although some advanced maneuvers involve riding in a kneeling or even standing position.
