Blokquote is a term used in some languages and software to refer to a block-level quotation. In many web contexts, it serves as the localized name for the HTML blockquote element, which marks up a section of text that is quoted from another source. The term emphasizes the structural nature of quoted material rather than its styling.

In HTML, a blokquote element groups longer quotations and can include other block-level content such as paragraphs and captions. The element is semantically distinct from inline quotation and helps assistive technologies identify attribution and source context. For short quotes, the inline q element is preferred.

Attribution can be provided with a figcaption or a cited work inside a footer, often using a cite element or a URL. Nested blokquote elements are allowed to reflect nested or multi-part quotations.

Styling: CSS can adjust indentation, borders, typography, and spacing, but styling should not replace semantic markup. For accessibility, ensure the quotation is readable and that callers can locate the source.
