Avossa is a genus of frogs in the family Ranidae, commonly known as the wood frogs. These frogs are distributed across eastern North America, from southern Canada to the southeastern United States. They are characterized by their pointed snouts, relatively long legs, and distinctive dark mask that extends from the eye to the shoulder.
