Atmosfäärivoogusid, commonly referred to as atmospheric rivers, are long, narrow regions in the atmosphere that transport significant amounts of water vapor from the tropics towards the poles. They are essentially concentrated plumes of moisture that can carry as much water vapor as dozens of the Mississippi Rivers. These phenomena play a crucial role in the Earth's water cycle, delivering precipitation to many regions, particularly on the western coasts of continents.
