Asymetrii is a Polish electronic‑music project founded in 2015 in Warsaw. The group’s name, derived from the Romanian word for “asymmetry,” reflects its artistic focus on unconventional structures, polyrhythmic patterns, and experimental sound design. Its core members, producer‑engineer Katarzyna Jankowska and multi‑instrumentalist Michał Dąbrowski, met while studying at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and began collaborating on a series of demo tracks that combined elements of IDM, ambient techno, and glitch.

The project’s debut EP, “Fragmented Horizons,” was released independently in 2016 and received positive reviews in niche electronic‑music forums for its intricate layering and use of field recordings from urban environments. In 2018, Asymetrii signed with the independent label Nova Pulse and issued its first full-length album, “Echoes of Irregularity.” The record was noted for its thematic exploration of cognitive dissonance and featured collaborations with visual artists who created projected installations for live performances.

Asymetrii has performed at several European festivals, including Unsound (Kraków) and CTM (Berlin), often incorporating immersive audiovisual sets. The duo continues to release singles and remixes through digital platforms, maintaining a DIY ethos and engaging with a community of experimental musicians. Their work is frequently cited in academic discussions of contemporary European electronic music as an example of the interplay between technological innovation and artistic expression.
