Ras Al Khaimah, commonly abbreviated as RAK, is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. It lies in the northern part of the country along the Persian Gulf and borders Oman to the southeast, as well as Umm al-Quwain and Dubai. The capital is Ras Al Khaimah city. The emirate features a coastal plain and the Hajar Mountains, including Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the UAE at about 1,931 meters.

Historically part of the Trucial States, Ras Al Khaimah joined the United Arab Emirates on February 10, 1972. The emirate is governed by the ruler, who chairs the local government and is a member of the UAE Supreme Council of Rulers; the current ruler is Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

Economy has shifted from pearling, fishing, and agriculture to tourism, manufacturing, and logistics. The emirate hosts the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone and seeks investment in construction, industry, and maritime services. The population includes Emirati citizens and many expatriates; Arabic is official and Islam is the majority religion, with English widely used in business.

Tourism centers on mountains, beaches, and heritage sites. Notable attractions include Jebel Jais, the Dhayah Fort, Ras Al Khaimah National Museum, and Al Marjan Island. The climate is arid, with hot summers and mild winters. Transport includes Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and a network of highways connecting to other emirates.
