Ras Al Khaimah, commonly abbreviated as RAK, is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. It lies in the northern part of the country along the Persian Gulf and borders Oman to the southeast, as well as Umm al-Quwain and Dubai. The capital is Ras Al Khaimah city. The emirate features a coastal plain and the Hajar Mountains, including Jebel Jais, the highest peak in the UAE at about 1,931 meters.
