Dubai

Dubai is the capital of the Emirate of Dubai and the emirate's administrative and economic center. It is located on the southeastern coast of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. The city is known as a global business hub and tourist destination.

Dubai lies in a desert region with a hot, arid climate. Summers are extremely hot with humidity; winters are mild. Rainfall is infrequent. The population includes a large expatriate community and a mix of cultures; Arabic is the official language, while English is widely used in business and daily life.

Dubai's economy has diversified rapidly beyond oil, with major sectors including trade, logistics, tourism, aviation, and real estate. The port of Jebel Ali and Dubai International Airport are among the world's busiest for freight and international passenger traffic. Notable landmarks include the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, and artificial archipelagos.

Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates; it is governed by the Emirate of Dubai under the ruler and the Dubai Government, operating within the federal framework of the UAE. Urban development has included extensive infrastructure investments, a public transport system including the Dubai Metro, and ongoing projects aimed at diversification and sustainability.
