Akadályfutás, in English often called obstacle course racing (OCR), is a sport in which competitors run a course that combines running with a variety of obstacles designed to test strength, endurance, agility and coordination. Races may take place on natural terrain or mixed surfaces and can be individual or in teams. Distances commonly range from several kilometers to around twenty kilometers, with obstacles interspersed throughout the course. Obstacles can include walls to climb, rope climbs, cargo nets, monkey bars, mud pits, water crossings, carries of heavy objects, and other task-based elements. Penalties for failed obstacles vary by event and may involve additional tasks or time penalties.
